Over the weekend I'm going to spend some time working on a new homepage that'll allow me to add news items to it a lot easier aswell as giving me more control over the layout of it.

Just a heads up to let you know I'll actually be doing something for a change

BTW, is there a way for the mods to add news? We seemed to neglect posting the Rohan reinforcements and the news of Battlehosts on the homepage, and because of it, we seem to be a bit behind the times at first glance.

At the moment yes there is, you'll need to post threads in a similar style to the current ones in that locked News Items forum remembering to link to the thread where it can be discussed.

However when I update it I'll be using a seperate HTML coded webpage from the Admin Control Pannel so you'll just have to keep nudging me to sort it out if you want something posting or see something of importance :/

I'm working on the new homepage now as I have the day off.

I'll try to work around a way so that staff can post to the homepage but it'll require them to use HTML as well as access to the Admin Control Pannel so I think it'd just be easier to give me a nudge whenever you see something or want something putting up to it.

Obviously if this is how I decide to have it as a general layout, I'll fill it in properly with more news items, the current one is just a test to see what people think so please post your thoughts and opinions about it and ways to make it better.

Overall though I prefer the layout to the original standard portal as that was automatically generated by the website provider and looked a bit tacky in places.

I'm also moving this to Website Feedback as that is what it is now

I like the new version...it's a lot neater and less cluttered than the standard version

i like the new one but then again i rarly even saw the old version so i'm not the best one to say.

Plus it allows the person who actually found the news to take credit rather than everything saying by Red Corsairs

Okay so the HTML way of doing this didn't work out, it required far too much work so I've redesigned the portal a little and gone back to the old system. Meaning staff can post News Items by simple posting a new thread in the 'News Items' locked forum about the News you want to announce, linking to said thread.

Much like the content currently in the News Items forum, take a look staff! Don't feel you need to ask me to post news either, you are staff for a reason, go ahead and post whatever News you feel needs announcing!
