| Ugh Jaws, it's really not that hard to copy the link into your adress bar... But for those too lazy: http://www.warlordgames.co.uk/?p=3262Don't know what you could really use it for in LotR but it's a nice model none-the-less. |

| You could always use it as an orc or Black Numenorean catapult (all you need to do is use different crew models). |

| Hmm, yes Black Numenorean could work. I prefer the current Orc style of Catapult though (if it's to be crewed by Orcs). How widespread was the use of siege weaponry of the technological scale of the catapult in LotR though? Now that GW seems to be providing rules for most races. If Mordor gets a nasty catapult can you really rule it out for any races that can't? Although I suppose Orcs (well Goblins) were described as being ingenious in creating new weapons of war and violence. |

| I don't think that there's much reference to siege weaponry. Off hand, the only two I can recall being detailed are Helm's Deep and Minas Tirith. HD probably isn't a fair example, as Saruman's army was moving fast to try and take out Rohan as quickly as they could and as such wouldn't have been able to carry heavy seige equipment, thus why they're restricted to rams and blasting charges. As far as I'm aware, all the other sieges are only brief accounts or passing mentions and thus don't describe the seiges in detail. |

| Hmmm, yes, it's really left up to the reader's imagination. Strange that some things are detailed so closely while others are left almost entirely untouched. I suppose Rohan is the only faction that wouldn't really employ siege weaponry, even Khand would need something to attack the fortresses of other kingdoms. I suppose Minas Tirith would have the best siege equipment, followed probably by Isengard and the ingenuity of Saruman, then Mordor's crude but effective weaponry. Dwarves would also probably be in there to an extent I'd imagine with their technical prowess and fortifications but they probably on a smaller scale.
Anyway, I ramble. It's a nice model. Too small for Gondor though and has the wrong feel for Orcs. Definitely a human construct. Fallen men of some sort could work well. |

| not bad (Thanks for the link my computer isn't working proppaly) The orgner jsut looks a little too small compared to the romans opperating it. but other than that it looks quite good. Tho i don't think i would buy it as i all ready have a Britian Trebuchet left over from when my dad painted whihc i can use to convert my self a mordor catapult etc. |

| Actually Cal, it could be Mordor who have the best seige weaponry. Unless I'm mistaken, it's stated during the siege of Minas Tirith that the Mordor weapons were able to hurl flamming ammunition into the city, while the city's own siege weapons weren't able to reach the seige works between the city walls and the Mordor artilliary. Then again, I don't think it's mentioned who was crewing the machines, so it's plausable that they were human in origin (possibly even Gondorian in origin captured from Osgiliath). |
