The thing is, Simon has made it worse for himself.
On Radio 1 he called the campaign 'stupid' and 'cynical' which is just going to make people support it all the more.
He also said he gets no benefit from having a christmas no. 1 and that it ruins Joe's life, not his. What a load of bull... Joe already gets loads of money from winning X Factor alone and the money from those who buy his CD anyway, as well as the chance to go onto a great musical career (even if I hate every X Factor winners singing). Besides, he'll probably go on to be forgotten after a couple of months anyway, the only X factor singer to have sustained a successful career was Leona Lewis.
Hopefully Rage against the machine will get no.1 with it's Rock/Rickroll protest song and bring back some genuine talent and competition into the Christmas Charts.
It might not be a Christmas song, but that's because the people who set up the campaign chose for a strong song that gave the idea of a protest to catch peoples attention. It seems the media has helped a hell of a lot this year as well.
I can only hope that Simon sods off and leaves good songs to race for the the Christmas number 1, there's been no competition for 4 years in a row now...
Personally I have nothing major against Simon Cowell as a person either. Many people hate him because of his harshness to people in the X Factor auditions, but it's just because he hass the balls to tell people the truth... "You're shit at it!" (sorry, Lee Evans qoute their, gotta love that guy lol). And I like that about Simon, he doesn't lie and get peoples hopes up, if it weren't for Loius, Danni and Cheryl maybe we wouldn't get idiot like Jedward into last heats.
The only thing I dislike Simon for is this, the way he's ruined the Christmas Charts.
