Hey guys! I have been playing LotR SBG for about a month now. I have Aragorn, Isildur's Heir (the one from The Three Hunters set) and in the stats on gamesworkshop.com it says that he has an ability called "Cheiftan of Forgotten Arnor", however, it doesn't explain what this ability does. I have looked through numerous books and I haven't been able to find anything that describes what this ability does. Could anyone help me out??

Also, I have a friend who recently ordered Thranduil, King of Mirkwood (he is a fan of Legolas and wanted his father so that he can have both father and son). He has a special rule called "Circlet of Kings", however, this isn't explained either. I could really use some help. Please let me know what these abilities mean if you can. Thanks!

Chieftain of forgotten arnor is a special rules for an alternate aragorn...however that one was given in an issue of WD and alsa i can't find my copy or remeber what issue it was. I belive it gives him a double range stand fast tho.

Circlet of Kings is a special rule for Thanduil and is in the Fall of the Necromancer rule book. What it does is allows him to cast "Aura of Dismay" one per game that automatiicaly casts without the need to roll for it to work or the use of Will (a bit like Tom Bombadil)

EDIT: So, GW actually did put the rules for the Council of Elrond up...

Aragorn - More expensive. Special rules giving banner effect to Dunedain and their Elven allies, and one allowing movement through terrain without penalty for the same groups.
Elrond - More expensive, less defence. New foresight rule which allows you to alter priority rolls. Nature's Wrath replaced with Wrath of Bruinen; similar effect but devastating if the enemy is in contact with water.

I'm assuming that he has the same stats as before with his normal form and Anduriel?

Ranger stats, but no, this version of Aragorn doesn't have Anduril

Just found that the rules are in fact online, so have replaced my summaries with instructions on finding them. That way there's no risk of any copywrite infringements or anything. I'll list a quick overview in my above post though.

same here. Got it workign now so it's all good. And i soo happy too as i had lost both that WD and the one with the Shield Bearer etc in which i also downloaded.
