By the looks of it the rules are getting a make over in july. I have to say they probbaly need it but i think LOTR need a new rules book more but i'm saying that as a LOTR and 40k player and not a fantasy player.

This has been rumoured for ages, so not realy that suprising. Whoever put that ad togther needs to brush up on their skills a bit though - the cuts were far too sudden to work well Rolling Eyes

Personally, I think that WotR should have been a modified version of WH and it's a shame they didn't make WotR '7.5 th edition' and then used feedback from it to polish up for this release of 8th ed.

This kinda displeases me purely as a LotR gamer, because I remember when the latest edition of Warhammer was released in 2006. Now the latest edition of the SBG was released in 2005, and since the SBG does need to undergo some changes (hmmm, fix stat creep fr one), it seems stupid that they're releasing a new edition so soon.

it does to me as well. I think SBG need a new bumper rule book to go with all the new stats that have been in all the expansions and WD books.

True LordFenrir, as I recall it, WH and 40k were supposed to be updated every 8years, not every 4. Unfortunately, the anti-LotR part of GW would probably counter your arguement with a pathetic "But you guys got WotR last recently and when LotR first came out you got a new edition every year for the first 3 years" Rolling Eyes

"we only got a new one which had no new rules and only adjusted profiles and that was only becuase of the films. And WOTR sucks.
