New SBG rules Empty
PostSubject: New SBG rules   New SBG rules EmptyTue Oct 26, 2010 6:43 am

Ok so i got the new WD (review coming soon when i cna be bopthered and not swamped with homework) and i thoguht i would "share" the rules. No i will be a vaige as possible and no pts and the like to avoid copyright stuff and s@#t hitting the fan. So here we go.

Goblin Blackshield Captain - This guy is actually quite good. 2-handed weapon, bosted defence and S5!!!!!! that and a neat special rule that MIGHT come in handy depending on who your oppoent is.
Goblin Blackshields - Just golbins with get a shield and extra armour for few pts more........yes please!!!! pity the modals arn't that great and expensiv eot get many.
Blackshield Shaman - BROKEN!!!! He is the ONLY shaman not to have fury and instead has shatter....which removeds all wargear and counts the target as unarmed!!!!! Surprised Aragorn just got risky. Is othe rower is good but to hard to cast.
Blackshield Drummers - A mobline drum that is cheaper and has a chane of he "saved" like a banner. well thats jsut stupid...and not in a good way. Oh and did i mention they also have the Blackshield profiles too (minus the shields) Ya, not broken at all GW.
Cave drake - Not a hero which sucks but really hard to kill, a mosnter, immune to difficult terrain as well as having an "instant kill" attack!!!!Oh and if you corner him then you take an extra automatic hit. And he's friken cheaper than half the good heros!!!!!!
Floi - He can't fight (by Dwarf standards anyway) but he's able to negate special rules by expending will points. Now thats quite good and he can regain will during battle by ANY dwarf killing a multi-wound warrior or hero. Not bad.
Kings Champion - D9!!!!!!!! Ya D9! The Heralds can also lend their fate tot eh champion as well as well as having a banner each. Hot dam is he strong....but no where near worth the £20 price for 3 modals.

So ya GW have broken the rules with a 4 by 4 and then tryed to stich them back together. This is why we need a new book as all these rules are in to many places now. Seriously if you want ALL of the rules of all the modals you need to have over 10 books with you and thats too many. The Blackshield are completely broken beyond repair and the dwarves get the shaft compared to the rest of them. However after these rules i might just get a Cave Drake and IF i played WOTR aswell i would get some blackshields. But sinc ei don't i'll leave it. Not worth the cost for an army i don't use that often really.

Can you double check the shaman - over on TLA it was stated that it was all wargear, but then someone else said it was only weapons.

No, I meant check the spell - you've said it destroys all wargear, but over on TLA, it's been said that it only destroys weapons.

you are right as it does say "weapons" whihc i assume to be things like a two-handed axe, Andruil, Durin's axe extra. But what about bows? shields? Throwing spears?

Bows, throwing spears, knives, axes, staves, swords etc. are destroyed. Victims are counted as unarmed, and shields do not count as weapons so they are not destroyed, unless I am mistaken.

Also for clarification, someone on TLA emailed some GW bloke (I think he's on the GT committee or something) and he clarified that the new Cave Drake is a Hero, his Might, Will, and Fate values are all zero. Which is fine, because I didn't fancy getting a Dragon just so I can ally the Drake I bought into a Goblin army Wink

i'm happy to go anlong with that but what GW NEED to do is compact all the runes into a new book or several books for each faction like Gondor and Mordor...but even the Mordor one is out of date. Look at Fantasy and 40k for example. They need 2 books. There codex and the main rules book. LOTR needes between 1 and 15 depending on your army. It's stupid and why i just use the store one now rather than bring my own....though i still have to bring my WD rules. Mad
