Greetings again all!

So about a week ago a friend and I embarked on making an epic costume for a local anime convention in the middle of July. Since there's always a few furries at these cons, we decided to make a Lord Fenrir of Dar-Koldor fursuit, based on the villain from my Shadow of the Dog Lord Anthropomorphic Fantasy Roleplaying Game:



This costume actually is surprisingly simpler in concept than most fursuits, since it's just the head that's furred...the rest is black robes and a red cloak. So we decided to make a few pieces of armor for me to wear in the form of gothic pauldrons and vambraces, created out of fiberglass resin.

Unfortunately, due to the douchebag of a maintenance man, we aren't able to finish working on them at his place (the old codger thought the fiberglass was damaging the grass, when we just had a discolored carpet laid down to protect it), so when my friend gets off work, we'll try to finish them and get pictures.

I am also working on a voice for the costume, since my own is not powerful enough to portray Fenrir. This actually is a blessing, since my last suiting experience involved a cute suit where I didn't want to speak in, which apparently meant I could be climbed on and attacked by kids...now I can shout at them. I am basing the voice of Lord Fenrir on the late Tony Jay, a terrific English voice actor.

I'll be posting work in progress pics as soon as I get them, and after the con (July 17th) I'll post pics of me at the con and (hopefully) video.

I think I need to add another strap though...they don't want to stay locked in place on my shoulder when I move my arm :/

Hmm, just my opinion, but I think they'd look better silver. I also think that some sort of trim around the edge will help define them - at the moment they look a bit bland and not very Dark Lordy

Some fake fur will help remedy that

Looking very nice so far, the shape of the head so far looks good and in my opinion the pauldrons look great.

To satisfy y'all, here is the final head, without fur mind you:



It actually is furred (and shaved, since the fur was too long in many spots), but since I left a "bald spot" on the back of the head for the wig to go, I didn't get a picture of it. The wig was sent yesterday, so it should be here in a few days.

For tomorrow's agenda, we'll be making his robes, which unfortunately will merely be one robe due to time running short.

And there's still so much work to make the voice I want to speak with:



Oh, and the crown, which will probably just be made of craft foam due to the con being one day from when the wig will arrive and my having to work.

Next update will be whenever I can (probably tomorrow with pics of the costume (not the head just the robes/cloak/etc.

You could always use a dressing gown as a second robe to save time/effort

I honestly am very disappointed in the head...the clothes turned out great, but the head...eh. For MFF I think I'll commission a "professional" to do it for me :/

Turned out really nicely. Whilst I see what you mean about the head it's still really good and far beyond thr skill of anything I could produce so Kudos on that

Good work Fenrir. I agree that the head isn't 'all that' good, but for a first try, it's a nice effort, and to be honest I think the main let down for it is that it's too large for you - if it had been smaller (closer to your own head in size) it probably wouldn't look that bad
