From the looks of it, useable not just in water features..

Why?

My opinions:

Watcher
Since when can the watcher levitate? Shocked
That said, if you have a spare goldfish tanks and a gallon of water effect, it would be useful in a diarama.

Rhino
Looks decent. There's nothing in the books/films about them being used ths way, but it doesn't seem too unfeasable.

Balrog...thing
wtf? Is that supposed to be a Balrog, or perhaps gulhuvar? Any one speak German care to translate for us? :/

Kataphracts
I'm guessing these are the new plasic set. Look okay to me and probably would look great if I liked the WETA design for the Easterlings Razz

Easterling heroes
Same opinion as the Kataphracts.

Casulties
Meh. Nice fature for diarama makers, but over priced by the look of it.

Goblin King
Lose the pillar and the crown, then give him a throne and it'd be an alright mini. Not fantastic, just alright.

Goblin Shaman
Why is he covered in spiders? confused

Goblin Warg rider
No thanks.

The dead guys look like they're dancing, and I will probably use them that way.

Remember you'll need to sculpt the other side of them Wink These pics have been taken from above rather than face on.

What is this-
I don't even know...

It seems like a lot of creative license is being taken here.
It will probably make a mild amount of sense once we get to read the fluff.

Well as there is not really any details on the Watcher it left them free to decide how the lower half looked. Besides, it looks a hell of a lot better than the old tentacle pieces of crap that they did.

The Horror from the Deep belongs in the world of Warhammer, the rest of the stuff looks great though. I especially like the Great Gorgoroth Beast.

Oh goodness... I don't even know where to begin...

I guess they've tried to make the Watcher more useable, if it were restricted to being in the water it would rarely be used/bought. But spider legs? Really?
Rhinoliphont - basically a Mumak for Mordor, nothing against it really. Is it meant to be the same creature that pulls Grond?
Demi-Balrog? Looks like it has multiple head options possibly indicating you can have more than one in your army. If so, the new rules would be welcome for FA battles.

Almost everything else goes from "ok" to "meh" - but what the hell is going on with the Goblin King?

Link between Demi-Balrog (Somethingsomething 'Tiefe') and the Goblin King (King of 'Tiefen')?

The great Gorgoroth beast is one of the creatures that pulls Grond. I assume 'Tiefe' means 'Deep' as one of them is called the 'Horror from the Deep' and the Goblin King is called the 'King of the Deep'.

As for the Watcher, the legs aren't spiderish at all. Being a bit of an aquarium enthusiast I can tell you the legs are FAR more crab/shrimp like.

An update on the releases:

Some nice new minis in the commanders boxes and the Watcher looks far more menacing from the front view.

Like the look of the new Rohan stuff.

Will need a bvetter look at the Knight of the White tower before passing judgement. Disapointed that they've decided to use the tapdancing-on-a-corpse captain for the gondor set. Sad
