Alright everybody,

We would like to know what the members here (that's you) would prefer to see us all focussing on website wise. For now we would like to keep it relatively simple as spending money to improve the website is not an option for us (yet).

Obviously a large key issue with us is Advertisement. So we are going to try our best with advertising, and obviously it would be a huge help if you could try it out yourselves too.

But don't go out giving the wrong impression (ie. "Come to our site, it's better than yours by miles") because:

1) We wouldn't appreciate that at all as we are freindly here, as should you be!

and...

2) We are far away from being better than any other forum at the moment which is why we need your help!

So any other suggestions are welcome and deeply appreciated.

A Mod battle?

Sorry but you won't find me participating in a Game to be honest. I rarely game these days, the people that play LOTR in my area are all annoying kids which is partly what's put me off in the beginning but not only that, I don't have a painted army anymore (I don't like playing with an un-painted army, not sure why. I guess it just detracts from the battle somewhat) and I'm not that good at it anymore either I guess.

If there are Staff that are able to then you can go for it and write a battle report but I'm going to have to opt out for it, travel isn't really easy for me either.

Thats fine. I was looking for an excuess to go on holiday by my self this year.
I get annoyed by some of thoses kids but i find atleast 50% of the people who lay LOTR are kids.

That's probably an illusion Jaws - I bet most players/collectors are older, it's just that they avoid GW becauseof all the little kiddies :/

I think the majority of LOTR Players were older but the new generation of kid gamers are slowly putting them off. I've seen a distinct decline in 'mature' gamers recently in all systems.

same here. it really i have to admit that it's really of putting a domper on the games. They had the "Pod Racing" at my GW a while ago and only 2 adult entered....and one of them was the staff.

How about a monthly thing called a Painting Deathmatch?

I've seen it on another website and basically:

The main person (the one who would run it, post the threads, announce winners etc.) is the Main Person whom people need to 'challenge' in a Painting Deathmatch, that person selects who they wish to be challenged by and the rest of the people go off into another thread (The 'Side-Deathmatch Thread') and challenge other members of the website.

It'd go on during a 1 month period and each month their would be a specific Miniature selected for the Headline Event challengers to paint up to as good as possible (and better than the persons they're challenging).

Side Event challengers it would be up to them to choose their miniature.

Obviously the Headline mini would have to be a small miniature as there are the possibilites that someone might go and buy a model specificly for the Event and then not be chosen as the challenger.

Opinions? Any questions need answering go ahead, I'm not sure how well I described that

Sounds like an interesting idea RC. For a twist to it, how about altering it, so that if the main person is 'defeated' (i.e. in a poll on his and the challenger's minis he loses), the person who defeated him becomes the reigning champ and is the one to select the mini and challenger for next month?

Could see about getting a side bar box sorted out for it aswell, but what'd be shown on it? Reigning Champs Avatar and Name? Previous Months winning miniature? etc.

Could such a sidebox be put on cycle, like the gallery box is, cycling through the reigning champ, the current challenger and the previous month's entries?

I'm sure there'd be a way of coding it like that, but such a thing I do not know how to do I'm afraid.
