Ok at the mo we have a bog standard:

Junior Member: 0 posts
Member: 25
Senior Member: 100
VIP Member: 1000

So what ranks should we use? Theme wise. And at how many posts should they be promoted.

Assuming you can have more than 4 ranks, numerically I'd say it should go 0, 25, 75, 125, 250, 500, 750, 1000 (and possibly beyond knowing what Dinadan is like Laughing

).

Themed is fairly obviously gonna be LotR, although I'm not quite sure whether it should be races of people or what. I'd say Ringbearer would be a good top rank though.

guardian, traveller, scout, warrior..a few that come to mind....

Nice ones guys, I have permission to use Fate of Middle Earths fancy One Ring rank images so I'll see how many ranks are needed later and post here so we can make the final decider, though ringbearer will definitely be the top.

Right, using FoMe rank images we can have either 6 ranks or 11 though I'd say 6 is more sensible.

I'd agree with 6, we'll just have to have steeper inclines of post count to make it worthwhile.

What do these rank icons look like? If its not too hard I might be able to make some, if you want. It'll keep me occupied Laughing

You can make some if you want but FoMe provides me with good ones already, with One Rings showing the rank (5 rings top rank, 0 for bottom) with a nice border and background and seperate ones for Mods and Admins.

Basically they're 200 pixels long, not very tall. They can be found In Peoples posts here (www.fateofmiddleearth.com)

If you look on the link above, in the forums they can all be seen on peoples posts. The Admins have abandoned that site but they gave me permission to use all their images when I set up the last MoMe.

I like Dinadans' rank system (2 lords aside) though I like Ringbearer better than Maia.

Villager/Scum - 1-10pts
Warrior/Vermin - 11-50pts
Captain/Taskmater - 55-100pts
Nobleman/Shaman - 101-500pts
Lord/Tribemaster - 501-1000pts
King/Nazgul - 1001-2000pts
High King/Dark Prince - 2001-3000pts
Ringbearer/Dark Lord - 3000pts+

We also allow which aligiance they want.

Thanks anyhow. Now I need a way of keeping your access to the ACP but also having you as a Global Mod (so you can continue your role as tech whizz should the opportunity arise).

Yeah, it'd be kinda awkward me still looking like I'm an admin when I'm only really doing the tech stuff, and helping moderate. I don't know about on this, but I know on other forum software you can give Global Mods limited access to certain relevant areas of the ACP. Look out for something like that, its probably your best option Smile

Alright then. Its just that if I was kept as an admin then I'd have to commit more time to the site which I don't think I'll have nearly as much of when I start college on Monday, whereas being a Global Mod doesn't require quite as much work.

Having access to only 3 standard user Rank Images from Fate of Middle Earth I've switched to some more snazzy looking rank images. Hope they're ok.

Also however I've had to change the names of the ranks so they're not how they were:

Farmer
Warrior
Loyal Knight
Captain
Conqueror

I need to get in touch with the guys at FoME for more of them including possibly new Staff Images.
