Cool, but from the looks of things, kinda dead... 'tis a shame, I know from experience that projects like this need a real devoted team (with a lot of spare time) to make progress. Having said that, the character sheets look pretty snazzy. If I had the time, I'd try it out but alas, apathy reigns supreme

I've never really had the time for RPG's but I have played a couple before and they are good fun. It's just a shame this RPG is pretty dead like Racssirt pointed out, if it weren't for that it might have been what I needed to get into RPG's. Not that I have the time for even more games...

Don't knock 'em 'till you've tried 'em I say, though I'll agree about making time for them. Worthwhile for definite if you've got a good community behind it

'tis a pity that it's so hard to run an RPG online - if it wasn't, then it'd probably be quite fun to run one on here |

Agreed, I tried on the WoM forums with Suladan and that failed, and then again with a personal project of my own which came to no success... 'twas a good learning curve, if you can get the people for it who won't dwindle out then I'm sure its great

I have seen a method that works partially, although it's not so much an RPG as it is a collabourative storywriting exercise. That said, I've never tried it with combat and to be honest don't think it would work for that very well.

Combat is awkward and requires a lot of coding/automation which you just can't do using something like Proboards as I discovered Getting a Java turn-based system was one thing, integrating it into forum posts was a whole 'nother problem... that said, it didn't work

I suppose that combat could be done via a chatroom, with players posting their actions and then the GM rolling dice for them, but to keep things clear, you'd have to reign in the banter between the players which is half the fun of RPGs played sitting arround the table :/

Yeah, it's a social-based thing I guess which would in theory would work on a forum, but in practice you spend many days waiting for someone to reply And like you said, you lose the banter and also the spontaneity of actions etc.
