| The Children of Hurin - A Might of Middle earth Fan Supplement This has merely been minorly discussed as of this point however, it's now decided we will be creating a fan made supplement by the community of Might of Middle-earth and we need your help with this. I will be setting up it's own private group and area where only people involved in the making can join in so if you're interested in joining us and helping us out, post here and describe which areas you'd be able to help with. Regards, Jake. |

| Hey guys, Saw this and thought it sounded really cool! I probably don't have time to contribute a whole lot to the supplement, but I have written up houserules for Turin and Beleg a while back, so I thought I'd go ahead and post a link to them here. Obviously, no pressure to use my ideas, and if you do want to use any of them feel free to make whatever changes you'd like, just thought I'd toss in my 0.02! I have a conversion of Beleg that is done (just needs to be painted), and I have ideas for Turin, although I haven't put anything into motion just yet. http://www.one-ring.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=18411(sorry, they're burried in that first post somehwere. just hit ctrl+F and type in "Turin" and you'll find 'em). |

| We haven't really been working on this all too much recently due to all being quite busy. However I myself have a lot more free time on my hands so am able to resume my work with the supplement. Though I'm not sure about everyone else.
But thanks for that and if you want to get into the project let me know and I'll add you to the group and give you access to the forum. We could use some new blood to the project as it died quite a while ago really.
Thanks. |

Hurin was a chieftain of the Edain, and along with his brother Huor was one of only three Men (the third was Huor's son Tuor) to go to the hidden Elven city of Gondolin. After returning from Gondolin, Hurin and Huor became lords of Dor-Lomin and went off to fight one of the numourous epic battles of the First Age (can't remember which one off hand - think it was The Battle of Unnumbered Tears) where Huor fell and hurin was captured and taken by Morgoth. He was held in captivity and cursed by Morgoth as were his children. |

| Dinadan summed it up pretty well - the story (Children of Hurin) primarily follows Hurin's son, Turin, through various stages of his life, all the while being under Morgoth's curse. It's a great read, and pretty short. Definitely worthwhile if you enjoyed The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit.
As for the project - I'd love to give a hand here and there but really don't have time to be a major contributor. I write a lot of house profiles, though, so I could help out in that department, and I could try my hand at some artwork (I used to do more drawing than I do now, so I'm not sure how well that would work out). Background/filler text is also something I could potentially work on, whether you need new material written or just proofreading for some of the existing stuff. So in short, sure! Add me to the group, and I'll see what I can bring to the table. |

| I'll add you to the group next chance I get and you're free to help write some profiles. Proofreading would be handy also however that'll be towards the end of the project. |

yup! basically there are two divisions of "spirits," or you might even go so far as to say "deities" (really they're analagous to angels, more than anything else). The Valar are the most powerful beings, and Morgoth was the most powerful of them. The maiar (of which there are far, far more) are less powerful, but still very tough, and range greatly in strength. For instance, the Balrog is a maia, as is Sauron, as well as the wizards. Some people suggest that Tom Bombadil is a maia, although who/what he is is never explicitly stated. Elrond even has a tiny big of maiar descent in him (he being a great big mix of various human and elven bloodlines, with one notable maia ancestor). |

And technically, so does Aragorn as he's Elrond's nephew. Coincidently, for those who don't know, the Children of Hurin are cousins of Elrond, Aragorn, etc - Huor, Hurin's brother, was Elrond's great-grandfather. |

| Not quite. The Dunedain are descended from the Numenoreans - 'dunedain' is Elvish for 'Men of the West'. Hurin had no decendants beyond his children - one of his daughter's died at a young age (can't remember the exact cause off hand - think it was from a plague created by Morgoth), his other daughter died of grief and his son, Turin, commited suicide. |

| The Dunedain are decendants of Hurin's brother, Huor (Huor --> Tuor --> Earendil --> Elros --> Numenoreans), so although not direct decendants Hurin is an ancient relative, if not ancestor, of the Dunedain bloodline. |
