I remember when White Dwarf was a good magazine and filled with interesting articles.

Now it seems it's just a catalogue showcasing new release trying to get people to buy new stuff.

It's not good, the writers should be fired.

Yeah, it's never been great recently. Still there's some interesting stuff in there (like rules). Usually I pick it up on the way home from uni, so I'm just happy for a good distraction. Some of it gives me some interesting ideas.

It's been more catalogue than mag for a while now unfortunately It always was part catalogue. When I first started collecting it many years ago, it was jam-packed with interesting articles, and quite regularly I'd force myself to read everything because it all looked interesting even though at the time I was only into LotR. The last couple of issues I've bought have only been for the rules and I've barely looked at the rest because it looks dull and bland.

well the mian thing is that if GW where doing there job then they wouldn't have to put rules in the WD mags. The last issue is a prime example, having NOTHING non-fantasy related in the entire magazine. that was just dickish.

The oldest White Dwarf magazine I have is issue 146 I think, or something along those lines.

And although there's no Lord of the Rings content in it, it's absolutely brilliant. There wasn't a single article throughout the whole mag I wasn't bored with in that era of WD.

Now it's all reviews and battle reports. Not interesting at all in my opinion.

i have no problem with the battle reports but the countless reviews are a bit to much.

I miss the Olde Wirde and Index Astares fluff articles myself

i would love to see more fluff stuff. I speak as a fluffy player as i play Ilydan, Crimson Spartans(Drop pod themed Chapter), and Hive Fleet Hydra.

I have some really old WD's (early 100's I believe) and a couple of newer ones. Now I've never been massively into reading it, but even as a relative outsider I could see how the quality has deteriorated between the time periods... it's sad, it just seems all money and no decent stuff anymore

I miss battle reports that didn't spend half the time trying to sell the latest releases...and could fluff with style.
