They look good RC, although I'm not too keen on the blood - just doesn't look right somehow :/

Ya, besides the black orc-blood, I use plastic glue or any gloss varnish on top of blood to make it look wet. It really helps a lot. I love the way you base your miniatures, it really looks realistic. Very Happy

Hehe, I forgot to be expecting this, I got it last time I posted these pictures up and also went back over the paint and fixed the problem so in actual fact the blood is a deep deep blue/black colour I've just only posted an old picture Razz. But thanks anyway everyone Smile.

For my Army of Gondor I'm going to be basing them on Mud/Grasslands and hopefully the painting will be cleaner (particularly on the face).

Nicely done. You've always been a good inspiration for my painting.
Any particular reason for the large base?

Thanks guys!

And Cal I have no need for regular sized bases as I never play with my minis, I am doing all of these minis in this 'Project' on larger bases just for effect really. No particular reasons.

It's been a very long time since I painted anything and an even longer time since I painted anything to do with LotR. But here I am with an update!

I've started painting my Gondor army!

My first update is Faramir, Captain of Gondor (Ranger) and one of Faramirs' Rangers. As it usually takes me forever to paint a miniature I've tried to paint these quickly and simply. (PS - the lighting on these pictures isn't quite right, for some reason Faramirs' sword seems very shiny, whereas it's actually a bit darker than shown.)

Very nice. Only crits I can think of are the eyes (but as they're hard to do I'll let you off this one) and that the skin looks a bit 'flat'.

Invisible Frodo completed. I might work on a nice diorama base for it at some point seeing as it needs a good base to make it 'pop' due to not requiring any paint on the mini itself, but I have other projects to get on with for now so it'll have to wait.

Yeah I'm thinking of doing a small Weathertop diorama, something along the lines of 'invisible Frodo vs twilight Ringwraiths'.
