I want to build an army using the Rohan army list and Ents. Around 750 points. But the problem is i have 0 experience with either army. So can i please get some help on this.
Oh and i definetly want Eomer in this

For 750 points you could probably have 2 Ents, Eomer and a bunch of Riders of Rohan, maybe a couple of Royal Guard or Outriders.

I haven't the rulebook with me at the moment but when I get it I'll try and write a couple of options for you.

Its not the most competitive of lists but its a good place to start if your looking to build an army with a combination of both lists. I've tried to take into account how much of everything there will be in each box - if you're just starting a new army the last thing you want to be doing is buying a £16 box from which you only need two or three models.

The list is rather low on numbers but hopefully the three giant talking trees will make up for that. You also have Eomer and a good contingent of cavalry for added mobility - although the Riders do make up the enitiry of your shooting enabled models.

Thats a cool army. But it is lacking a bit on the archer side. If i find a way to work around that, this could end up being similar to my list

That army actually would work very well on a heavily terrain covered battlefield (which I try to do whenever I game). Make sure those cavalry hit the flanks and the infantry go up the middle amid all the terrain, using the Ents primarily as support units. Ensure that no one gets surrounded or trapped and victory should be easy for you

Hmm...the problem with Rohan and archers is that unless you're willing to take a loss and drop the RoR's bows you'll often find you can't squeeze both foot archers and cavalry in...

Although I'm never keen on dropping RoR's bows I actually prefer this list. It does mean you'll have more models left over from what you've bought but its a good starting point. Numbers are much better in tyhis list but are still low...but that's to be expected with Ents and cavalry... You could always drop the cavalry altogether in favour of the Ent setup from the last list and some more infantry but it's down to your own preferences really.

I definitely prefer the first list you put up, I think ill go with something like that

Although IMO, the second list is probably technically superior, it really depends on how you play and who you're playing aginst. Besides, if you're starrting the army entirely from scratch I'd probably go with the first as its a better opint to start from and build upon.

Oh and RC, if you make the list, could you try to make a 1200 Point list if thats not to much trouble. I may enter the competition.

It's low numbers for 1200 points however includes 2 ents, treabeard and is fully mounted. It's also dead on 1200 points exactly.

Also cannot quite remember rules on throwing spears and whether or not they count towards the bow limit (not having played in almost a year etc.) so that might need to be adjusted, though do Riders of Rohan count due to all being equipped with bows anyway and their expert rider rule?

Just had a quikc look ofver the list and a few observations.

Have you forgotten to put the ents in the list? You talk about two ents and treebeard but only he is in the list given... Probably just a typo but thought I'd point it out

Throwing spears do not count toward the bow limit so they aren't a problem. However, as all RoR carry bows as part of their standard equipment the list is currently over thge bow limit. This can easily be resolved by declaring that only 18 RoR are carrying bows - but perhaps them all carying bows was an important aspect?

Ther's also the amount of might - or rather - how well you will be able to spread it effectively. Obviously the outriders will have to stick with Gamling leaving Eomer and Treebear to cover the rest of the army - and when all models have large bases and are particularly reliant on Heroic moves.
