Well, i have been playing dawn of war alot recently, and i have been inspired to get out some old marines and see what i could do with them.

I kept them just as simple ultramarines (no comments on that please ) but i am tempted to darken them into crimson fists because they are nicer =)

I think i might get the black reach set for those termies and the d'nought and all the other goodies you get for just £43 =)

So, i made the sergeant by using the spare chronus torso you get in the blister for the tank commander variant.

just need to buy one of those 3 man squads to top it up to 10 men complete with Heavy bolter and flamer.




A terminator :-)


And of course the other chronus, which i might just field as another sergeant or "servitor techmarine person thing".

Some nice marines you have there James, the highlights on the blue areas are a tad too strong for my liking and should be more subtle but that's just a personal preference. Nice work

Looks good. The gold trim looks far better than the standard yellow if you ask me.

You are quite right, and the flash on the camera really brings that out as well.

better than my Mariens as i jsut made up my own faction so peopel don't go "But thats nat a real coulours for Mariens!" Fowlloed by a slap around the head.
I jsut painted mine Scap red with white bits here and there. Pritty boring colours but they wrok. I called them "Crimson Dragoons" even tho they arn't crimson.

But i love the conversion work.

Is he an Ultramarine or a Crimson Fist?
I like the words you've painted on, they look great!

I think the Termy is a Crimson Fist.

Crimson fists as they are blue with red hands.

If he's an Ultramarine then it's looking nice, if he's a Crimson fist then he's still looking nice but needs to be darker.

I like the freehand work, good job James

i need to work on my faction's name really. I called than Crimson Draggons but they are almost entirly Scab Red with Skull White here and there.

haha, i am glad you looked at him as a crimson fist, because yes. I have been doing them as lame ultras, but i have been un decided on whether or not to do for crimsons. So i kept him half half. but yeah As Jake pointed out, i am going to make them darker into crimsons...
