I'd have to say the Barrow Downs chapter is amongst my favourites. |

| having not read the whole book yet(still half way thoguth Frodo's part of the Two Towers) i would have to say Merry and Pippins stuff witht he ents tho it only lasted 2 Chapter in total. |

Agreed - the descriptions are excellent and the man himself Tom Bom is literary gold! Oh, and pretty much anywhere with elves  I've always loved the idea of places like Rivendell so that's up near the top as well  |

| Well, the Barrow Downs was certainly up there somewhere and A Knife in the Dark scared the poo out of me when I first read it but my absolute favourtites to read have to be the opening chapters of TTT. |
